Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Shhh… Silence (“we”, “our”, “the app”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Shhh… Silence mobile application and website at https://shhhsilence.com.

1. Who we are

Shhh… Silence is a digital well-being app. An Admin can start a timed Focus Session. Linked Member devices enter Focus Mode for that duration. Incoming cellular calls can still get through.

2. Information we collect

• Account details: username, password, first name, last name, phone number, and email if you enter one.
• Group details: referral codes, group membership, Admin/Member role, and linked-member lists.
• Device details: a device identifier, device name, and online/offline status so an Admin can see linked devices.
• Focus Session details: start time, duration, who started the session, session status, and completed session history.
• Notifications: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send Focus-related notifications.
• App usage analytics: events such as app open, login, sign up, permission completion, and Focus Session start/end, using Google Firebase Analytics.

We do not ask for payment card details. We do not show ads.

3. Accessibility and Focus Mode

On Android, Focus Mode uses the Accessibility Service, notification access, and related device permissions only to keep other apps blocked during an active Focus Session, except incoming cellular call screens. This processing happens on the device to provide Focus Mode. We do not use Accessibility to read your passwords, messages, or photos for advertising, and we do not sell this data.

• Create and manage your account and groups
• Let Members join an Admin with a referral code
• Start, sync, and end Focus Sessions across linked devices
• Show live countdown, member status, and session history
• Send Focus-related notifications
• Measure app stability and basic usage so we can improve the product
• Respond to support requests

5. Who we share information with

We share data with service providers who host the product, only as needed to run Shhh… Silence:

• Supabase — account, group, device, and session data
• Google Firebase — Cloud Messaging (push notifications) and Analytics

Admins can see limited information about linked Members in their group (name/device, online status, and session status). We do not sell personal information.

6. Data retention

We keep account and group data while your account is active. Session history is kept so Admins can review completed Focus Sessions. You may email us to request deletion of your account and associated data.

7. Security

We use HTTPS and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission is 100% secure. Please choose a strong password and do not share your referral code except with people you want in your group.

8. Children’s privacy

Shhh… Silence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your choices

• You can edit profile information in the app.
• You can leave a group by joining a different referral code, as described in the app.
• You can turn off optional OS permissions in Android Settings, but Focus Mode may not work without Accessibility.
• You can request access or deletion by emailing the contacts above.

10. International processing

Our service providers may process data on servers outside your country, including India and other regions used by Supabase and Google.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
